SUMMARY:"Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" presented by Black Birt Theater
DESCRIPTION:Black Dirt Theater is proud to present Tom Stoppard's award-winning* play "ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD" LIVE on stage at Hastings Middle School.\n\n \n\nAcclaimed as a modern dramatic masterpiece\, "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" is the fabulously inventive tale of "Hamlet" as told from the worm's-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern\, two minor characters in Shakespeare's play. In Tom Stoppard's best-known work\, this Shakespearean Laurel and Hardy finally get a chance to take the lead role\, but do so in a world where echoes of "Waiting for Godot" resound\, where reality and illusion intermix\, and where fate leads our two heroes to a tragic but inevitable end.\n\n \n\nRecommended for ages 13 and up. Contains mild adult language\, dark humor\, and themes of death and existentialism\, which are philosophical rather than graphic.\n\n\n\nStay connected to Black Dirt Theater via our website\, Facebook page (facebook.com/BlackDirtTheater) and Instagram (instagram.com/black_dirt_theater) for updated information on Auditions\, Rehearsals and Performances.\n\n \n\n"ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD" is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing\, LLC\, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. www.dramatists.com\n\n \n\n(*1968 Tony Award for Best Play. 1968 NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play)
