A special “Back2School” Vaccination Clinic for students entering grades 7-12 this fall will be heldWednesday, August 27from 1:30-4:00 p.m. at the Dakota County Western Service Center in Apple Valley, 14955 Galaxie Ave. Three vaccinations will be provided at no cost:
HPV (human papillomavirus, which can cause cancer)
Changes in the Minnesota School Immunization Law that go into effect this fall affect all students entering 7th grade, and the vaccinations are highly recommended for all middle and high school students. The vaccines have been provided through a federal vaccine fund. Dakota County Public Health is offering the vaccinations to help families take this important step to protect the health of adolescents. The Back2School clinic is walk-in only - no appointment required. Children must be accompanied by an adult and each child must have a signed permission form from their parent or legal guardian. Parents should bring the child’s immunization records, if available. Please help us promote the clinic – a flyer in English and Spanish is attached. More information and forms are available on the Dakota County website or by calling the Immunization Information Line at 952-891-7999. Dakota County Public Health also provides a range of immunizations for children and adults at walk-in clinics or by appointment. For more information, check the website or call 952-891-7528 to talk to a staff person.
